Peace On Earth

Peace On Earth

"In many cases, I’ve misunderstood the meaning of true peace. Foolishly, I’ve watered it down, defining it merely as the absence of a conflict. As a result, I’ve hid myself from adversity more times than I like to admit. I’ve remained silent when I needed to raise my voice. I’ve run away when I needed to stand up and fight. All this I’ve done as a means to try and “keep the peace.” Over and over, I’ve chosen to walk around the pain of a conflict, hoping on the other side it would have worked itself out. However, peace and inaction are not synonymous. In actuality, peace is something so much bigger. Peace is wholeness. Peace is making right what is wrong. Peace requires us to go through the pain and not around it; it demands us to face our conflicts and wrestle with them until there’s breakthrough. I believe the Church needs to sing this song because we’ve run away from adversity far too often. We need to fight for our cities; fight for justice and restoration in our communities. We need to link arms as brothers and sisters, and together walk through the pain and wounds of this world. No more walking around it! As we walk through it, we can be the healing the world needs. We can raise our voices, stand up, and fight for true peace in the world." (Micah Massey)

VERSE 1
Jesus, you’re the prince of peace
Perfect love and harmony
Healing power for every heart and soul
When we worship at Your feet
There is joy in unity
A precious hope we want the world to know

PRE CHORUS
As it is in heaven
As it is in heaven

CHORUS
Let there be peace on earth
Let there be peace on earth

VERSE 2
You are strong when we are weak
Always with the least of these
Giving grace for grace is in your hands
Step into our brokenness
Wash away our woundedness
Come restore the ruins in our land
